WYNELLE HITEN
Henderson, TN: Ina Wynelle Hiten, age 94 passed away Saturday September 10, 2016 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 26, 1922 in Fayette County, AL and reared there, the daughter of the late John Raymond and Idah Anthony Hiten. She went to high school at Hubbertville, Al and went to teacher’s school in North Alabama. She received a specialist in business education from the University of Mississippi after having been to U.T. Knoxville.
She taught business at Shelton State Technical School in Tuscaloosa, AL for eighteen years, one year at U.T. in Nashville, the Business Department at Freed Hardeman University for nineteen years, and then was secretary at the Henderson church of Christ office for ten years, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and National Collegiate Association for Secretaries where she had received the Balsey Award.
Mrs. Hiten was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews to include; Kitty Litton Morris and husband Sammie of Mobile, AL and Alice Litton Abbey and husband David of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Hollis Hiten and Wayne Hiten and four sisters, Irene Herron, Leota Hubbert, Vera Paris and Elene Litton.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ben Flatt officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM Wednesday at White’s Chapel Cemetery near Winfield, AL.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 1:00 PM Tuesday.
