Mr. Gable passed away Tuesday at Memphis Health & Rehab Center.
He was a design engineer for International Harvester for more than 30 years. The husband of Thelma Gable, who survives, he lived most of his life in Memphis and was in Chicago for a few years. He was born to Wyatt Talamadge Gable, Sr. and Pauline Johnson Gable, both of whom preceded him in death. He served in the US Army from 1954-56 and was a deacon for many years and sunday school and church training teacher with Bellevue Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on October 16, 1946, survivors include a daughter and her husband, Lorrie and Gary Moore of Cordova; a brother and his wife, Paul and Donna Gable of Memphis; and a granddaughter, Melodie Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Trout.
