Winfred Smith

Winfred (Dook) Smith was born November 27, 1927 in Ramer, Tennessee the son of the late Lee Roy and Mattie May Smith.He worked 43 years for Brown Shoe Company before retiring. He was a lifelong member and elder of the Mount Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a founding Alderman for Eastview, a member of the Eastview Rurtain Club and served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Smith departed this life on March 16, 2007 in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 79 Years, 3 Months, 17 Days.He is survived by his wife, Daphen Smith of Ramer, Tennessee; three children: Gloria Loda of Collierville, Tennessee, Lynn Smith of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Garry Smith of Pickwick, Tennessee; a sister, Polly Crum of Collierville, Tennessee; a brother, James (Shorty) Smith of Ramer, Tennessee; 6 Grandchildren: Tyler Jarnagin of Selmer, Tennessee, Jina Crenshaw of Trenton, Tennessee, Eric Smith of Selmer, Tennessee, Jill Smith Fowlken of Newbern, Tennessee, Levi and Eli Smith, both of Pickwick, Tennessee; 6 Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews.In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Ewell Moore Lindsey and three brothers: Bill, Emmett, and Otis Lee (Boss) Smith.
