Wilma Faye Inman Hill

Wilma Faye Inman Hill was born March 26, 1934 in Bethel Springs, TN the daughter of the late Joe and Virgie Sullivan Smith.

Wilma was united in marriage to James T. (J. T.) Inman on May 14, 1949.  To this union three children were born.  Mr. Inman preceded her in death on March 7, 1998, following 48 years of marriage.  On September 9, 2006 Wilma married Floyd Thomas (Tom) Hill.  Mr. Hill preceded her in death on March 12, 2022, following 15 years of marriage.  

Wilma was formerly employed as a production worker in area factories and worked in the kitchen at Adamsville Nursing Home.  She was a loving and devoted caregiver for her family and many others.  

Wilma immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed…. Especially her laugh and sense of humor. 

Shopping, traveling, cooking, tending flowers, and gardening were among Wilma's favorite activities.  She enjoyed "people-watching" and noting who passed by her home on Main Street in Adamsville.  She would cook a big breakfast for her grandchildren every morning before they left for school and would often have supper ready to send home with Janice and Dickie when they returned from work.  Wilma attended Good Hope Baptist Church as well as Mt. Gilead Baptist when she and Mr. Tom were able.  

The last few years of Wilma’s life were a struggle as the ugly grip of dementia took hold. One by one the memories of a beautiful life flickered and dimmed. But she continued to cherish the warm embrace of friends and family and find comfort whenever surrounded by conversation and laughter. She never stopped absorbing the love coming from those around her. 

On April 4, 2023 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 9 Days Wilma shed her earthly pain and made a graceful exit surrounded by the love she had nurtured all her life.  She is survived by a daughter, Janice Meek and husband Dickie of Adamsville, TN;  two step-sons, Sammy Hill and wife Norita of Hornsby, TN and Brett Hill and wife Kristen of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren: Wendy Ashe and husband Wayne of Bon Aqua, TN, Angel Reaves and husband Phillip of Lawton, TN, Chastity Clay and husband Tommy of Gilchrist, TN, and Cody Inman of Lawton, TN; eight step-grandchildren: Adam Hill and wife Ginger of Bethel Springs, TN, Dixie Price and husband Matt of Murfreesboro, TN, Alex Albert and husband Justin of Arlington, TX, Vickie Hill of New Castle, WY, Alaina Hill of Arlington, TX, Mitch Morrison of Selmer, TN, Miranda Morrison of Ft. Worth, TX, and Jason Verriere of Keller, TX; nine great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents and husbands, Wilma was preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie Inman and Rayford Inman; a stepson, Danny Hill; and a sister, Thelma Jo Smith.  

The family would like to say a special “Thank you” to Kelsea and Angel from MRHC hospice for the kind and loving care given over the past year of her life.
