Wilma Louise Holmes Henson, age 84, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, peacefully at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Henson, her daughter, Brenda Byrd, her parents, William Talmadge and Alma Parks Holmes, her brother, Edward Holmes, and her sister, Faye Glover.She is survived by her son, James Barry Henson and wife Selena of Memphis; four grandchildren, Melanie King and husband Aubry of Selmer, Kerri Fabert and husband Mark of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kristi Owens and husband Jason of Ft. Meade, Maryland, Jonathan Thomas Henson and wife Tommie-Lynn of Dickson, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren, Brian and wife Brittani of Hornsby, Tennessee, Jessica of Bolivar, Tennessee, Olivia King of Selmer, Andria, Kimberly and Leslie Fabert family of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kayla, Jarred and Kendall Owens family of Ft. Meade, Maryland, Katelyn Henson of Dickson, Tennessee; two great-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Avery King of Horsnby, Tennessee.She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Cupples and husband William Ell, two brothers, Bobby Holmes and wife Bobbie Jean and Farris Holmes and wife Mary jo, all of Selmer; a devoted friend, Ardith Ashe, and a multitude of wonderful family and friends.As a faithful and devoted member of Union Grove United Methodist Church, she held many positions of leadership. After retiring from Brown Shoe Company, she kept busy with yard sales, picking peaches, helping her family at "Choices", and by loving and caring for anyone she knew who had a need.
