Wilma Kiser Kiddy Dunaway

Wilma Kiser Kiddy Dunaway, born on May 16, 1930 in Selmer, TN, was a woman of remarkable character and unwavering kindness. She was the beloved daughter of the late Early (Ert) P. and Ocie Sweat Kiser.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Dunaway found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments with loved ones. She enjoyed quilting, singing and the friendly competition of games such as rook and pitching washers. Among the many passions that brought her contentment, gardening held a special place in her heart. She spent countless hours tending to her flower beds and meticulously raking leaves.

In earlier years, Mrs. Dunaway dedicated herself to teaching Sunday school and remained an active member of her church until her health began to decline. Her faith provided solace and strength throughout her journey.

For many years, Mrs. Dunaway worked diligently at Garan Manufacturing and later at Harwood. Her commitment and strong work ethic reflected her genuine character.

Above all else, Wilma Kiser Kiddy Dunaway was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her uncommonly sweet spirit emanated through gentle gestures, warm hugs, and kind words that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Mrs. Dunaway departed this life on August 3, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 2 Months, 18 Days. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of those she held dear: her son, Roger Kiddy and wife Patricia of Selmer, TN; daughter-in-law Katherine Kiddy of Selmer TN; brother, Larry Wayne Kiser of Selmer, TN; two sisters, Syble Pearson of Corinth, MS, Shirley Derryberry of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren, Wes Kiddy and wife Toni, Ryan Kiddy, and James Kiddy; three great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy, Peyton, Kiersten, and Ryder Kiddy; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband, John William Kiddy; second husband, Johnnie B. Dunaway; a son, Ronnie Kiddy; two brothers: Roy and John Kiser; and five sisters: Nellie Wolfe, Virginia Barnes, Dorothy King, Mable McClain, and Kaye Tacker.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her caregivers - your kindness and loving care will forever be remembered by Mrs. Wilma's family.
