Wilma Sue Baker passed away on October 31, 2024, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 22 days. Sue was born on August 9, 1932, in Blytheville, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Elsie B. and Odus Powers.
On July 4, 1953, Sue was united in marriage to Billy H, Baker. Together they raised three children until Billy preceded her in death in 2002, just shy of their 50th Anniversary.
She was a homemaker who worked in the family restaurant business after the family moved from Memphis to Michie, TN. Sue loved working in the yard and tending to her flowers, especially her beloved Iris varieties of which she had many colors. She loved to travel and especially loved the mountains. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Michie.
Sue is survived by her son, Dana and his wife Andrea of Corinth, MS. A sister, Jan Best, of Franklin, TN, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family, Including James Baker and Donald Powers, two of her nephews that were especially close to her.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband Billy, her son Danny, her daughter Debbie, two sisters, Marie Hays and Margie Baker and a brother, Gene Powers.
