Willis E. Yopp was born February 19, 1913 in Walnut, Mississippi the son of the late Benjamin Frank and Ora Mohundro Yopp. He was united in marriage to Cathryn Montague on March 3, 1939.Mr. Yopp was a retired Insurance Agent for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company in Memphis, having worked full time for 44 years and part time for another 17 years. He was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer, and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Park Avenue Masonic Lodge in Memphis. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Memphis Area Beekeepers Association. While living in Memphis, Mr. Yopp taught Sunday school and served as a ball coach for Towering Oaks Baptist Church.Mr. Yopp departed this life on October 28, 2006 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 8 Months, 9 Days. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Cathryn M. Yopp of Selmer, Tennessee; two sons: Gordon L. Yopp of Selmer, Tennessee and Monty Yopp of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Monica Padgett of Selmer, Tennessee and a great-grandson, Anthony Padgett of Selmer, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Yopp was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Harrell and Aline Mathews, and a brother, Mansel Yopp.
