Willie M. Gray

Willie M. Gray of Selmer, TN departed this life on Friday, March 19, 2010, at the age of 91 years, 6 months, 17 days. She was born on September 2, 1918, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elsie Barnes McCann. She was united in marriage to J. P. Gray who preceded her in death on April 15, 1990. Mrs. Gray was a former employee of Brown Shoe Company in Selmer and was a cook for the former Rose Creek School and the hospital in Selmer. She was a member of the Church of God. She loved to travel and was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.Survivors are four daughters, Fannie Atkinson and husband T. L. of Selmer, Betty Johnson of Brownsville, TN, Becky McDowell and husband Eddie of Selmer, Phyllis Robinson and husband Jimmy of Bethel Springs, TN; two sons, Johnny Gray and wife Joy of Selmer, Stanley Gray of Biloxi, MS; a sister, Mildred Smith of Bethel Springs; 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Danny Davis of Bethel Springs; a sister-in-law, Dahlia McCann of Bradford, TN.Other than her husband and parents, Mrs. Gray was also preceded in death by a daughter Sandy Davis on November 8, 2009 and a son Robert Andrew Gray who died in infancy. She was also preceded in death by a granddaugter and five siblings, Marion McCann, Verl Kirk, Earl McCann, Willard McCann, and Eula McVay.
