Willie Edward Burns, 82, of Moscow, passed from this life Friday, February 10, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Collierville.
Born in Mississippi, he lived most all of his life in Fayette County. His parents were the late Willie Nathan Burns and Elsie Clara Kennon Burns.
He was a 1959 graduate of Fayette County High School and married Allice Faye Burns on September 6, 1968. She died on October 16, 2005. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy and Patty Jewel Burns; and a brother, Terry Glenn Burns.
Mrs. Burns was a quality control inspector for Troxel in Moscow where he worked for 42 years before retirement. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church near Moscow and was a former Sunday School Director. He dearly loved his church family. An avid country and bluegrass music fan, his collection of tapes covered one whole wall of his home. Most of all, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He leaves two sons, Chris and Jason Burns, both of Moscow; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nathan and Megan Rose Burns, Zane and Andrew Dunn; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
