Willie Mae Brown

Willie Mae Brown passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022 at the age of 92 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, Illinois. She was born in Lutts, Tennessee on October 4, 1929. She worked at many of the garment factories in Hardin and McNairy counties. She enjoyed fishing, road trips and spending Sunday afternoons visiting family in Olive Hill, Walnut Grove and Bear Creek. She raised her family in the community of Walkertown. She retired and moved to Illinois, where she spent the last 20 years living with her daughters.

She leaves behind two sons, Johnny (Norma) Brown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Jerry (Joan) Brown of Braidwood, Illinois and one daughter, Margaret (Gary) Franks of Plainfield, Illinois. She enjoyed nine grandkids, thirteen great grandkids, and four great great grandkids. She spent time visiting her nephew Don Vickery, cousin Rachel O'Neal as well with Ruby Brown, Mary Lynn Brown and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lula Vickery; brothers, Ed Vickery, AC Vickery, LV Vickery, and James Vickery; son, Douglas Brown; and daughter, Sharon Nies.
