William Howard Wharton

William Howard Wharton of Waynesboro, TN was born September 13, 1935 in Cloverdale, AL, the son of the late Leslie Howard and Hulda Elvira Ahonen Wharton. Mr. Wharton was retired from AVCO and was a United States Army veteran. He departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2022 at his home at the age of 87 Years, 3 Months, 10 Days. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wharton was preceded in death by sisters, Christine Devers and Margie Gamble. He is survived by sons, Kenneth Wade Wharton (Linda) of Shelbyville, TN and Brian Keith Wharton (Pam) of Hohenwald, TN; grandchildren, Toni Hinson, Ashton Wharton (Sara), Preston Wharton, Isabella Illobre (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Nahele Halonen, Easton Green, Mosetta Green, Grace Wharton, Addison Wharton, Jaxton Illobre and Skylar Illobre; brother, Charles Wharton (Shirley) of Louisiana and nieces and nephews. A graveside service with military rites will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the North Highland Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Trina and Randy Hale officiating with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN assisting the family. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN. Pallbearers will be Keith Wharton, Easton Green, Nahele Halonen, Ashton Wharton, Preston Wharton and Stacey Wharton.
