Bill Wells
Henderson: William Thomas ‘Bill’ Wells, age 83, died early Monday morning, August 18, 2014 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Wells was born and reared in Ellington, MO, the son of the late Dea Thomas and Fannie Helvey Wells. He attended schools at Ellington. He entered the United States Marines and served in the military police three years stationed in Hawaii. He married Wanda Campbell in 1955 and they made their home at Finger. He was an operating engineer for Local 675 as he worked as a heavy equipment operator and then as a heavy equipment mechanic, retiring in 1994. They moved to the Luray area in 2004.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Wanda Fae Campbell Wells, three sons; Michael Thomas Wells and wife Yvette of Port St. Lucie, FL, Mitchell Allen Wells and wife Tammy of Finger, and Mark Ronald Wells and wife Tina of Finger, and a daughter Merlene Ann Faulkner and husband Jeff of Luray. He is also survived by a sister Essie Shoup of Springfield, MO, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers; Harold Wells, Ben Wells, Bernie Wells, and Denver Wells, and five sisters; Betty Myers, June Swanson, Beulah Rhoa, Hazel Adamson, and Judith Stern.
Masonic services along with funeral services will be held Saturday evening, August 30, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Casey Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford -Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM August 30th.
