William Raymond Waters, Jr. was born on January 29, 1933, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of the late William Raymond Waters, Sr. and Catherine Marie Porte Waters. On October 21, 1961, he was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Schaefer, who survives.
Mr. Waters served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War (1951-1954) on the USS MONTAGUE AKA 98. He was employed by Aqua Glass in Adamsville, Tennessee, before retiring and was a member of the Savannah Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Waters departed this life at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee, on August 26, 2014, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 28 days.
In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, Sandra Lee Waters of Crump, Tennessee, he is survived by eight children, Tommy Lee Waters of Reliance, Tennessee, Tammy Marie Waters of Stantonville, Tennessee, William Raymond Waters, III of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Kenneth Bruce Waters of Savannah, Tennessee, Victoria Ellen Bruner of Crump, Tennessee, Joseph Stanley Waters of Maryville, Tennessee, Jesse James Waters of Stantonville, Tennessee, Brian Scott Waters of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; nineteen grandchildren, Tabitha Hano, Tonya Warner, Trinity Waters, Chastyne Brown Wahlstrom, Misty Hayes, Nathan Lynch, Tiffany Hinton, Jeremy Lynch, Alyssa Waters, Justin Waters, Jacob Waters, James Waters, Joshua Bruner, Zachery Waters, Abby Waters, Brandon Waters, Brittany Davis, Kayla Asher and Brianna Hanson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Abby Neill, Tyler Neill, Kaylee Hano, Gracie Hano, Adison Hano, Hayden Warner, Hunter Warner, Melik Waters, Riley Wright, Preston Hayes, Noah Hayes, Jonathon Hinton, Emily Lynch, Naudia Lynch and Abriel Waters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Danny Waters; one grandchild, Jessie Hanson; and siblings, Raymond, Roy, Frank, Robert, Stanley, Eleanor, Florence, Myrtle, Marcella, Doris, Phyliss and Bernice.
