William Floyd Ward

William Floyd Ward was born August 17, 1927 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Roy and Mary Gillham Ward.He was united in marriage to Marilyn Sanders on October 25, 1952, which consisted of 56 years of marriage. Mr. Ward was a member of the Mount Sharon Presbyterian Church in Adamsville, Tennessee which he was an Elder for over 50 years, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He worked for Brown Shoe Company for 23 years and then retired from McNairy Regional Hospital as a Environmental Services Supervisor where he worked for 18 years. Mr. Ward loved Bluegrass music, going to church, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He departed this life on October 19, 2008 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 2 Months, 2 Days.Mr. Ward is survived by his wife Marilyn (Sanders) Ward of Adamsville, TN; two daughters, June Prather and husband Tommy of Selmer, TN, Vickie Grantham and husband Jackie of Hornsby, TN; two sisters, Maggie Ann Barron of Jackson, TN, Jaunita Ward of Adamsville, TN; a brother, Gillham Ward of Medina, TN; 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
