William Gary Sanders

William Gary Sanders was born September 22, 1919 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late James Arthur and Mary E. Huggins Sanders.He was united in marriage to Evelyne Sanders.Mr. Sanders was a taxi driver for over 21 years. He also worked as a farmer for 8 years and a mechanic for 1 year. He was a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church. Mr. Sanders was a World War II Army veteran and received the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.He departed this life on April 4, 2007 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 6 Months, 13 Days. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Evelyne Ashe Sanders of Selmer, Tennessee; a daughter, Melissa Sanders Wilds also of Selmer, Tennessee; a son, Anthony (Tony) Sanders of Fairfield, Texas; 9 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Sanders and a brother, W. J. Sanders.
