William T. Ricks

William T. Ricks, husband of Catherine Ricks, passed away on June 16th, Father’s Day, at Allenbrooke Nursing Home in Memphis, TN.
William was born on June 29, 1946 the son of Boone and Mildred Ricks in Charleston, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John E. Ricks and two sisters, Charlene Dahl and Sarah Fly.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, a son, Billy Ricks of Bolivar; and a daughter, Katrina Ricks Speakman (Brandon) of Collierville; and two grandsons, Hugh James Speakman and Jackson August Speakman.
Mr. Ricks served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. William and Catherine met while he was stationed at Naha Air Force Base and Catherine had come to Okinawa to teach for the Department of Defense Oversees Dependent Schools. They were married on November 14, 1969 in Charleston, MS. His death will be observed privately by the family.
