William Hulin Murley

Selmer, TN: William Hulin Murley, age 88, died September 17, 2008 at Jackson General Hospital.
He was born and reared in Hardeman County, the son of the late Denford Luther and Jessie Loretta Thomas Murley. He attended schools at Deanburg. He was married to Virginia McBride of Middleton in January 1942. They moved to Chester County in 1942 and lived here for 23 years. He entered the U.S. Army in June 1942–1945, U.S. Air Force in 1947–1949 and in 1954 he entered the Air National Guard 164th Military Airlift Group, Memphis, TN retiring in 1979. They made their home in McNairy County since 1987. Mr. Murley was a member of the Hickory Grove Methodist Church at Silerton.
He is survived by a son Wayne Murley (Alice) of Oakfield, TN; four daughters, Wanda Beene (Jim) of Bethel Springs, TN, Carol Moates (Billy) of Stroudsville, TN, Rita Etheridge (Robert) of Byhalia, MS and Cheryl Brewer (Herb) of Mt Pleasant, MS; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, D. L. Murley, Jr.
of Deanburg, TN and James Murley of Lawrenceburg, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia McBride Murley in 1998; a son, William Hulin Murley, Jr. in 1958 and a daughter, Billie Faye Murley in 1961.
