William A. (Bill) MacArthur of Stantonville, Tennessee, was born on February 27, 1929, the son of the late Hugh L. and Margie Surratt MacArthur. He was a retired mail carrier of the Stantonville post office with more than 30 years service. Mr. MacArthur was a United States Army Korean War veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart.He was a member of Adamsville First Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason.Mr. MacArthur departed this life on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at his residence at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 9 days.Survivors are his wife Dorothy Garrison MacArthur of Stantonville; his son Jim MacArthur and wife Amanda of Newbern, Tennessee, and granddaughters Blakely MacArthur and Alexa MacArthur.A host of other relatives and friends.Other than his parents, Mr. MacArthur was also preceded in death by a sister Marie MacArthur.
