William Loyd "Toot" Morris

William Loyd “Toot” Morris passed away on November 25, 2024 at the age of 89 surrounded by the love of his family in Waynesboro, TN.

He was born on October 17, 1935 in his cherished hometown of Waynesboro. Toot was the son of the late Jessie Brown and Roxie Davis Morris. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Mary Alice Warren, whom he married on December 19, 1953. Their journey together was filled with love, laughter and joyful memories.

Toot dedicated many years to Genesco Manufacturing Company, where he worked in maintenance until his well-deserved retirement. He was not only a diligent worker but also a man of faith, attending the Beech Creek Church of Christ.

In his younger days, Toot had a passion for coon hunting, a hobby that brought him much joy. He enjoyed gardening and loved watching basketball games, always cheering for his favorite teams. Above all, Toot cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, creating precious memories that will be treasured.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice of Waynesboro, TN; son, Jason Dwight Morris (Jennifer) of Waynesboro; and grandchildren, Haley Sanders (Evan) and Braden Morris (Mabel).

In addition to his parents, Toot was preceded in death by his sister, Willodean Anderson, and brothers, JB Morris and Richard Morris.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 11 am until the 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Dewayne Staggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro, TN.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Fisher, Tony Morris, Larry Davis, Jimmy Lewis, David Lewis and Donald Bunch.
