William Turner "Jug" Hicks

William Turner "Jug" Hicks was born April 5, 1956 in Clifton, TN the son of the late Broyles T. and Margaret Semon Hicks. Mr. Hicks attended school in Waynesboro, TN. He was united in marriage to Clara Louise Porter Hicks on April 5, 1974. He proudly served in maintaince at Wayne County Medical Center serving later attaining the position of Director of Maintaince. Mr. Hicks enjoyed fishing, watching football games, spending time with family and friends and was a friend to all who knew him. He volunteered his time toward helping those in need and assisted with the Butterfly Foundation charity marathons. Mr. Hicks departed this life on November 12, 2021 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN the age of 65 Years, 7 Months, 7 Days.

He is survived by his wife Clara Louise Hicks ; a son, William Eric Hicks both of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Tanisha (Tish) Hicks and companion James Yarbrough of Linden, TN; a brother, William Thomas (Bill) Hicks of Waynesboro, TN; a sister, Susan Margaret (Sissie) Hicks of Waynesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Eriq Hicks, Keosha Yarbrough, Mia Yarbrough, Takia Yarbrough, Zaylee Hicks, Quintin Anderson; two great-grandchildren Kali Brooks and Winston Anderson


Services will be held on November 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kevin Cross, Charles Linam officiating. Burial will follow in the McCauley Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tennessee

Visitation will be held Friday November 19 ,2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM and again Saturday November 20 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM all at the Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.
