William Joe Harrison

William Joe Harrisonwas born in Olive Hill, Tennessee on October 5, 1914 the son of the late William Talmage and Nell Beckham Harrison.On August 5, 1950 he was united in marriage to Bobbie Patterson, who survives.Mr. Harrison was a school bus driver for the Hardin County Board of Education for 23 years. He had also worked as a rock mason, laying rock for most of the rock homes in Hardin County, and he was a farmer. Mr. Harrison was a member of the Hardin County Court. He served in the US Army 1942-1945 in the 82nd Airborne Glider Division.Mr. Harrison departed this life on Friday, December 5, 2008 at the age of 94 years, 2 months.In addition to his wife, Mr. Harrison is survived by a daughter: Laura Jo Harrison Land of Olive Hill, Tennessee; a son: William Byron (Bill) Harrison of Savannah, Tennessee; a brother: WT Harrison of Olive Hill, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren: Angela D. Land-Dedrick, Joseph Riley Land, William Michael Land, Jared David Harrison , and Alec Byron Harrison; 1 great-grandchild: Samantha Kate Dedrick.In addition to his parents, Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by a sister, Wretha Harrison.
