William T. Harrison

August 19, 1923 — August 30, 2013

Born in the summer of 1923, William Talmadge Harrison was a farmer, a husband, a son, a brother, an uncle and one of the hardest-working men ever to step foot to Earth. His parents, William and Nell Harrison, raised him in Olive Hill, Tennessee, where he spent his entire life, working and learning his trade: agriculture. He had a brother, Joe, and a sister, Wretha. He married his beloved wife Ginny in 1956 and worked for 36 years at Parris Manufacturing, where he made toy guns. Ginny died in 1994.

Without having children of his own, he has a lot of nieces and nephews, who call him by his official nickname, Uncle T. Uncle T passed away on the morning of August 30, just days after his 90th birthday. He died as he had said he wanted: not in a hospital, not after suffering through an illness, but while getting the mail, doing an everyday chore.

He is survived in death by his sister-in-law, Bobbie Harrison; his niece, Laura, nephew, Bill and nephew-in-law, Mike; his great-niece, Angela, great-nephews Joseph, Will, Jared and Alec and great-nephew-in-law, Randal; and his great-great-niece, Samantha Kate. Mr. Harrison will be laid to rest in a family plot at the Olive Hill Cemetery, beside his wife Ginny.
