William Robert Emerson, 81, of Middleton, died early Tuesday morning, January 9, 2007 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama.
Son of the late William and Bessie Lowry Emerson, he was born in Mississippi on March 5, 1925, grew up in Middleton and had lived in Florence, Ala. for the past 14 years. He was a licensed electrician and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Emerson of Memphis, one daughter, Ann Emerson of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Sandra Mathews of Memphis, Lavern Gaftt of Middleton, Anita Easley and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Bishop and Joyce Durham.
