Dave Cox, 60, of Whiteville, died Friday evening, September 22, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widower of Martha Lucille Cox, who died May 26, 2005, he served as a Hardeman County Sheriff's Deputy and was in the National Guard. Born December 28, 1945 in Hardeman County, he lived in Memphis for 20 years before moving to Whiteville in 1985. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lisa Cox of Whiteville; three sisters, Sadie Ballard of Winfield, LA, Ruthie Dailey and Patsy Adell Johnson, both of Corpus Christi, TX; two brothers, Parker Dale Cox of Middleton and Audra Cox of Whiteville and two grandchildren, Whitney and Steven Cox.
