William Tedford (Rooney) Bowen

William Tedford (Rooney) Bowen was born September 9, 1939 in McNairy County,  the son of the late Jesse Tedford and Alice Ruth Deberry Bowen. He was united in marriage to Diane Chambers on August 21, 1962.

In his younger years, Rooney played basketball at Ramer High School where he helped his team win many championships. Rooney started Bowen Auto Sales in the mid- eighties. He helped many people afford a car. He was a member of the Selmer Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed golf and playing cards. He was quite a story teller. Rooney enjoyed fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

Mr. Bowen departed this life on September 22, 2023 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 84 Years, 13 Days.

He is survived by his wife Diane Bowen; a son, Todd Bowen; a daughter, Lisa Lea and husband Steve; five grandchildren, Jessica Bowen, Chelsea Bowen, Elliot Lea, Austin Lea, Will Bowen; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Battles, Debra Smith; and many extended family and friends.
