William Marion Borden

Services for William Marion Borden, age 78, of Iron City, TN will be Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 2 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, TN with Bobby Rich officiating. Burial will be in Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 10 am to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Charles and Eddy Miller, Leo and Jeff Littrell, Chris and Faron Borden. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Rodney Borden, and Dwight Cole. Mr. Borden died at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN on Friday, May 9, 2008.



A native of Franklin County, AL, Mr. Borden, was a retired brick mason and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mattie Chaney Borden; son, Kenneth Marion Borden; and sisters, Mildred Castle, Linnie Mae Partain, and Dorothy Davis.



Survivors, wife, Mittie Guin Borden; sons, James (Barbara) Borden, Reecie (Sue) Borden, Odell (Jennifer) Borden, Timmy (Paula) Borden, Darren (Angie) Borden all of Iron City, TN; daughters, Brenda (Doug) Kelley, Cypress Inn, TN, Sheila (Charlie) Melson, Iron City, TN; brothers, Elmer (Marie) Borden, Van (Ann) Borden, Leon (Darlene) Borden all of Russellville, AL; sisters, Lorene (Charlie) Colburn, Moulton, AL, Etta (Lloyd) Cole, Russellville, AL; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
