Mr. William "Bill" Graves, age 64, of Toone, departed this life Thursday morning, July 7, 2016 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Lavelle Vickers Graves, whom he married on April 20, 1996, he worked in the logging industry for over 30 years, having owned his own business, B & L Logging, for four years and also working for Dan Nuckolls and Perry Howell. He was born April 8, 1952, in Perry County, son of the late William and Elsie Keeling Graves and lived most of his life here. He enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing, but especially enjoyed his time with his family, whom he dearly loved. Mr. Graves was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Brandy Martinez of Hornsby; a son, Jeremy Graves of Middleton; five stepdaughters, Cathy Hopkins of Bolivar, Lenita Griffin of Toone, Angela Upton of Mercer, Beverly Ferge of Whiteville and Shasity Mynatt of Toone; three sisters, Joan Baker and Jane Jeter, both of Bolivar and June Landrum of Rutherford; numerous grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Graves; a son, Billy Graves; a stepson, Randy Mynatt and a brother, Michael Graves.
