Henderson: Willard M. Hearn, age 92 died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Northbrooke Healthcare in Jackson, TN.
Mr. Hearn was born June 9, 1923 and reared in Chester County, the son of the late William Everette and Lora Myrtle Murley Hearn. He attended Chester County schools and entered the U. S. Navy in 1942 and was stationed in Hawthorne, Nevada, San Diego, California, Providence, Rhode Island and Norfolk, Virginia where he was assigned to the USS Tarawa. He married Dorothy Sue Wade in 1944 and they made their home west of Henderson where he farmed, raising cotton, soybean, corn and Herford and Black Angus cattle. He had been a member of the Soil Conservation Board.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He and his brother cut the beams and help build the Trinity Church building.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Hearn and wife Lisa of Paris, KY and Rickey Hearn and wife Debbie of Henderson and two daughters, Judy Groteluschen and husband Rick of Labadie, MO and Paula Burrow of Germantown. He was predeceased by a son-in-law Dr. W.B. Burrow of Germantown, TN. He has eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by his wife Dorothy Wade Hearn in 2015, a brother, Ford Hearn and three sisters; Pauline Frank, Hazel Hearn, and Tressie Lee Cooper.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday.
