Will Tom Murray was born May 9, 1935 in the Purdy community of McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Virgil and Lessie Henson Murray.
He was united in marriage to Frances Ann Wilson on May 30, 1959.
Mr. Murray was life long banjo bluegrass "picker" and shared this talent to help others in need by playing at numerous benefits and by mentoring young musicians. He played many other instruments all of which he had no lessons and was blessed with the ability to play by ear. He was a member of Woodville Baptist church and played the piano. He had been hospitalized since October 29th, 2010 after a serious car accident in which he recieved serious injuries all of which he could not recover.
Mr. Murray went to his heavenly home on December 3, 2010 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 75 Years, 6 Months, 24 Days. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Ann Murray of Bethel Springs, TN; two special nieces who were the daughters of his late brother, Gordon, whom he considered to be his daughters, Terrie Butler and Vonda Burns and husband Sanford all of Bethel Springs, TN ; five special great nephews that were his grandsons, Chase Russell, Hunter Burns, Kyle Burns, Mark Burns and Trey Butler; three sisters, Pauline Walker and husband Willard of Selmer, TN, Joyce Plunk and husband Johnny of Bethel Springs, TN, Mary Bess Tate and husband Fletcher of Bethel Springs, TN; five brothers, O'Neal Murray and wife Doretta of Bethel Springs, TN, Bruce Murray and wife Betty of Bethel Springs, TN, Larry Murray and wife Janice of Adamsville, TN, John Ross Murray and wife Lola Mae of Bethel Springs, TN, Gary Wayne Murray and wife Diane of Adamsville, TN; host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Murray was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Murray; special great niece, Molly Elizabeth Burnsof whom he considered a granddaughter.
