Wiley J. "Skip" Ward

Mr. Ward passed away Thursday evening, March 24, 2016 at Baptist Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven, MS. He was born February 26, 1953 and spent most of his life in Hardeman and Shelby counties. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and worked as an automotive mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, singing and spending time with children.

He leaves his daughter, Christina Ray of Mobile, AL; four sisters, Ann Bell of Olive Branch, Evelyn Gravitt of Sugar Valley, GA, Rachel McGregor of Potts Camp, MS and Susie Harvell of Millington; one brother, Alvin “Butch” Ward of Middleton; his companion, Mary Bardo of Horn Lake, MS; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke and Matthew Dowell.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Evelyn Leslie; a sister Charlotte Ward; two brothers, David and Ray Leslie; his son, Jimmy Hickman; and a nephew, Jeffrey Avent.
