Wilena Pogue was born on October 16, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Alice Brumley Holiday.On March 23, 1953 she was united in marriage to James Darrell Pogue, who preceded her in death on October 18, 1984. Mrs. Pogue was a retired seamstress with Savannah Manufacturing. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and also a member of the Savannah Bowling League. Mrs. Pogue was the great-granddaughter of Dr. Brewster Higley, the author of the song, "Home on the Range". She departed this life on June 6, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 21 days.Mrs. Pogue is survived by one daughter: Bonnie Pogue Bullock of Owensboro, Kentucky; two sons: Darrell Pogue of Clifton, Tennessee and Jeff Pogue of Marietta, Mississippi;six grandchildren: Candice Bates, Scotty Pogue, Jeremy Pogue, Jesse Pogue, Jon Pogue and Chelsea Pogue;one great-grandchild: Dillon Pogue;two brothers: J. L. Holiday and Jerry Holiday, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;and a very special friend for 20 years, Charles Pyron.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons: Scott, Mark and Barry Pogue; a grandson, James Darrell Pogue;a sister, Wileda Holiday and a brother, Manuel Holiday.
