Funeral services for Wayne Lineberry, age 64, of Clifton, TN will be 1:00 pm Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Clifton with Don Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge.
Visitation will begin Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11:00 am at Riverside United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lineberry, a native of Wayne County, died Thursday, August 30, 2007 from injuries received from an automobile accident. He was a son of the late Fred Lineberry and Macie Inman Lineberry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Lineberry and a brother, Frank Lineberry. Mr. Lineberry was a retired well driller and United Methodist minister. He had been a minister at several churches in the area including Mt. Hope United Methodist, Evan Chapel United Methodist, Highland United Methodist, and Henryville United Methodist in Lawrence County. However, Wayne considered Riverside United Methodist as his home church.
He is survived by daughters, Susan Lineberry Hancock and her husband Andy of Linden, TN and April Lineberry Geer and her husband, Cory of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Drew Hancock and his fiancé, Ashley Head, Caleb Hancock, Samuel Hancock, Marie Grant, and Levi Harp; brother, Winfred Lineberry; and sisters, Betty Jo Martin and Dorothy Sue Prater all of Clifton, TN.
