Waymon C. "Pete" Rowland

Waymon C. "Pete" Rowland, 90, of Bolivar, passed from this life Friday, January 27, 2023, at Christian Care Center in Bolivar.
The husband of Jane C. Rowland, whom he married on June 26, 1956 in Ripley, MS, he retired in June of 1993, as a personnel manager with Teknor Apex in Brownsville. He was born Sunday, may 8, 1932, in Tippah County, Mississippi, son of the late William Franklin Rowland and Eunice Emiline Brown Rowland, moving here in 1964. He served his country in the US Army and was a 3rd Degree Mason. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and talking to others, and was a well known 'prankster and jokester'. His greatest enjoyment came from being around his family, whom he dearly loved. Mr. Rowland was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Nita Woods (Robert) of Bolivar; two stepsons, Gerald Gay of Bolivar and Larry Gay (Jimmie) of Ripley, MS; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
