Wanda Carol Dillon Rickman

October 7, 1952 — December 23, 2021

Wanda Carol Dillon Rickman was born October 7, 1952 in Selmer, TN, the daughter of the late Jamie Dillon and Vance King Dillon.

She was united in marriage to Jimmy David Rickman on July 9, 1971. Mr. Rickman preceded her in death on June 20, 2019. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee.

Fiercely independent and strong, she was the solid cornerstone of our family. She was a source of counsel and rock solid advice for the family and for many that she adopted as family. She would line you up one minute and pray for you earnestly the next. She would love you to pieces at the same time she was lining you up. She was famous for her “Come to Jesus” talks. She was a Mama and Mamaw Wanda to many, both inside and outside the family. She loved and was loved as hard as anyone ever did. For every person that was either her friend or had sought her advice, she was earnestly invested in you. She would pray for you and keep up with you whether you knew it or not.

Her spiritual gift was food, actually it was service but it came out most often as cooking food for the many people it took to carry out God’s work. Later in life she discovered a passion for mission work both locally and internationally. She went every time there was a group and she was able. She always encouraged the family to go with her and often took her grandchildren with her. The family is very thankful for all the people that inspired, accompanied, partnered, and most of all chaperoned her while she was doing mission trips. We always worried about her but we knew she was in good hands and in good fellowship.

She will be missed but that really doesn’t convey the void that will have to be filled by others from the family. She has now passed the torch that was once passed to her. She has been reunited with daddy, granddaddy, and mamaw Vance.

Mrs. Rickman departed this life on December 23, 2021 in Southaven, Mississippi at the age of 69 Years, 2 Months, 16 Days.

She is survived by her children: Jamie "JJ" Rickman and wife Candace, Cristy King and husband Darryl, Brandi Morris and husband Jason all of Selmer, TN; six grandchildren: Jordan Rickman (Ashley), Jacie Pace (Austin), Jared Rickman, Jamie King Northcutt (Jacob), Jake Morris, Jaylee Morris; three great grandchildren: Charlottee Rickman, Emilee Rickman, Judd David Pace.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rickman was preceded in death by special family thought of as a brother, Ronnie Coats.
