Walton Farris Hickerson

Funeral services for Walton Farris Hickerson, age 85, of Beech Creek Road, Clifton, TN will be One p.m. Monday, July 17, 2006 at Riverside United Methodist Church near Clifton, TN with Wayne Lineberry officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Church Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.



Mr. Hickesrson, a native of Wayne County, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. He was a son of the late William Jackson Hickerson and Florence Denton Hickerson. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Julia Mae Hardin, Arnez Gossett, Lorene Howell; brothers, Grady, Lotis, Hershel, Paul, Thirl (W.T.), and Stanley.



Mr. Hickerson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a farmer, drove a school bus at Frank Hughes School, substitute teacher, director of summer recreation, teachers assistant, member of the American Legion, and Riverside United Methodist Church.



He is survived by his wife, Reva Wheat Hickerson of Clifton, TN;

son, Randall Hickerson and wife Denise of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter, Sylvia Hickerson Gobble and husband David of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Greg Hickerson, Carol Hickerson, Joshua Gobble, Daniel Gobble, Rachael Gobble Moore; great granddaughter, Jessica Hickerson; and several nieces and nephews.
