Walter E. Moore, of Middleton, died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
The widower of Leata Fisher Moore, who died January 17, 2000 after 44 years of marriage, he was an investor (it was his passion), cattle farmer and teamster. Mr. Moore was born February 16, 1930 in Grenada County, Mississippi, son of the late Archie Clayton Moore and Octavia Florine Simer Moore and lived here most of his life. He was a member of Middleton First Baptist Church for almost 40 years.
Services were 11:00 am Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery near Michie.
Survivors include one daughter, Jan Moore Meyers and her husband, David of Palmer, Alaska; one son, Guy Moore and his wife, Kim of Middleton; five brothers, Bertie Moore of Bolivar, Jack Moore of Newman, Georgia, Louie Moore of Mesa, Arizona, Harold Moore of Arlington and Raymond Moore of Portage, Wisconsin and eight grandchildren, Alina, Felicia, Savanna, Tabitha and Melissa Moore and Sierra, Marina and Joshua Meyers.
