Walter Norris Jacobs

Mr. Jacobs passed from this life early Friday morning at his home in Hornsby.

A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Wesley and Mary Lou Bryant Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. William T. "Billy" Jacobs and David Jacobs; and a sister, Peggy Morrison.

Mr. Jacobs was wed to Ann Jernigan on October 22, 1955. He served in the US Army from 1955-57 and was a water distribution system operator for the City of Bolivar for over 30 years. As a young man, he had also worked at Webb's Grocery in Bolivar. In his leisure time, Mr. Jacobs enjoy gardening and operating his backhoe.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, he leaves a son, J. R. Jacobs of Hornsby; six sisters, Inez Tucker of Tellico Plains, TN, Hugholene Vincent, Donna (Dan) Hamer and Dianne Jacobs, all of Bolivar, Sheila (Tony) Frost of Salisbury, NC and Kathy (Derick) Vaughn of Middleburg, FL; three brothers, Larry Jacobs of Bolivar, Bobby (Mona) of Toone and Jerry (Carla) Jacobs of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Raylene Jacobs of Toone; and a host of nieces and nephews.
