Walter Gilbert Irvin was born February 10, 1918 in Hardin County, Tennessee the son of the late Dan and Ida Franks Irvin.During his life Mr. Irvin had worked as a painter, farmer, logger, and for TVA when they were building the Pickwick Dam. Other past employers were Brown Shoe Co. and Parris Manufacturing. Mr. Irvin was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Hardin County Senior Citizens and he loved to fish.Mr. Irvin departed this life on May 16, 2008 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days.He is survived by a daughter, Frances Crum of Humboldt, TN; three sisters, Ruie Reynolds of Savannah, TN, Jewell White of Savannah, TN, Hazell Baugus of Crump, TN; two brothers, Jack Irvin of Mt. View, MO, L.D. Irvin of Savannah, TN; five grandchildren, Sandra Emison, Barry Crum, Mark Crum, Beverly Irvin, Gary Irvin; six great-grandchildren, Samson Stricklin, Kayla Emison, Chasity Crum, Ryan Crum, Alicia Crum, Mallory Irvin; two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Stricklin and McKenzie Stricklin.In addition to his parents, Mr. Irvin was preceded in death by a son, Maynard Irvin.
