In addition to his professional life, Junior proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, having been trained as a paratrooper. His military service reflected his bravery and dedication to his country, values he instilled in his family.

Junior's love for life was mirrored in his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed tinkering with various projects and going on camping trips with his family at Pickwick Lake. In his younger days, riding motorcycles brought him joy and adventure. Later in life, Junior was saved at Derma Baptist Church and knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior, a decision that positively impacted his life and the lives of those he loved forever.
