Mrs. Wade was born in Henderson, and grew up in the Montezuma Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Oliver Austin and Betty Omar Gillon Marsh. She attended schools at Montezuma and graduated Chester County High School in 1934, where she was a star basketball player. She was married to Elbert Harris Wade in 1934 and they made their home in the Phillip’s School Community where they actively farmed together. Mr. Wade died in 1978, and Mrs. Wade continued to make her home on the farm until she moved to Henderson in 1981. She was an excellent cook and needle worker and stayed busy reading and stitching. She moved to Jackson Meadows in 1998, being their first tenant from Chester County. She had made her home with her daughter Becky for the past four and a half years
She is survived by three daughters; Mary Moore of Ramer, Becky King of Jackson, and Lesa Boettcher of Minneapolis, MN. She also has six grandchildren; Danny Wade, Vicki Clayton, John Wade, Marsha Wood, Ginger Schutz and Becky Britchett and eight great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son; Harry Marsh Wade in 1973, and a grandson Roger Moore in 2000 and a brother Carnice Marsh and a sister Theola Freeman.
