Virginia Smith

Virginia (Jenny) Smith departed this life on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the age of 91 years, 3 months, 30 days.

She was born in Lutts, Tennessee on May 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Albert and Ettie Rainey Murphy. She was married to Edgar Smith, who preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and enjoyed listening to gospel music, and Vince Gill music, working with her flowers, and loved butterflies. She attended Lutts Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Helen Deshazier of Savannah, Tennessee, Norma Smith of Selmer, Tennessee, Betty Oakley and Dorothy Hill both of Savannah, Tennessee; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Peggy Smith and Louise Deshazier; grandsons, Tony Smith, Sonny James Hill, and Jessie James Hill; brothers, Haggard, Henry, Lewis, J.T. and Seb Murphy.
