Virginia Goodman Scott
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 1, 1949 the daughter of the late Clifford Lee and Martha Ann Cox Goodman.
On April 23, 1966 she was united in marriage to Jerry Scott, who survives. Mrs. Scott lived in the White’s Creek and Walnut Grove areas all of her life. She worked at Kay Winsor, Angelica and at the Piggly Wiggly in Central Heights, Alabama. Mrs. Scott was a member of White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to play the piano, gardening and flowers. Mrs. Scott loved taking care of her family and friends and loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed life and being around people; especially children.
She departed this life on November 14, 2006 at the Regional Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 13 days.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Jerry F. Scott of the Walnut Grove Community of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons: Gary F. Scott of the Walnut Grove Community of Savannah; Kenny Lynn Scott of Savannah; a daughter, Regina S. Jerrolds of Savannah;
5 grandchildren: Shaina Lynn Scott, Jaden Dale Scott, Paden Jerrolds, Patience Jerrolds and Cyara Alvarado; one grandchild-on-the-way, Jessica Jerrolds; one sister, Margaret Stricklin of Florence, Alabama; and 2 brothers: J.C. Goodman and Jimmy Goodman, both of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: L.C. and Derlon Goodman.
