Virginia Brewer Ray

Virginia Brewer Ray of Waynesboro, TN, departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at San Antonio Medical Center in Ajijic, Mexico at the age of 87 Years, 7 Months, 22 Days. She was united in marriage to Clay Alton Ray on February 16, 1952 and preceded her in death on December 25, 2001. Mrs. Ray was a retired owner and operator of Ray's Discount and attended Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN. She is survived by a son, Steven W. Ray of Ajijic, Mexico; two sisters, Imogene Hill of Collinwood, TN and Jerry Lou Moore of Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by a son, Randall Ray. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Byrd of First Baptist Church, Collinwood, TN officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
