Virginia Christine Perry

of Collinwood, TN was born October 20, 1932 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late John Allen and Mary Lou Davis Staggs. She was united in marriage to Edward (Ed) Hallowell and he preceded her in death and she later married Dickey Bud Perry.

Miss Perry was a retired dietary aide from Wayne County Nursing Home and departed this life on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her home in Collinwood, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 11 Months, 14 Days.

She is survived by a son, Richard Perry and wife, Donna of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Shirley (Hallowell) Lovelace of Collinwood, TN, Louise (Hallowell) Martin and husband, Kenneth of Iron City, TN, Kathryn (Hallowell) Ayers of Waynesboro, TN, Jeanine Perry and Susie (Perry) Devers and husband, Steve all of Collinwood, TN; her former husband, Dickey Bud Perry of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Sandy Martin and husband, Jeff, Christie Littrell and husband, Brent, Andrea Caperton and husband, David, Charle Hallowell, Jr. and wife, Tracey, Bridget Martin, Jami Duren and husband , Branston, Tasha Jefferies and husband, Brett, Deanna Lovelace, Christopher Greenhill and wife, Ashley, Ricky Perry, Ashley Lovelace, Jason Perry, Daniel Devers, Andrew Devers, Makayla Perry, and Brady Devers; great-grandchildren, Daykoda, Dylan, Ethan and Chloe Martin, Addie Kate and Tessa Littrell, Austin Caperton, Conner Hallowell, Shelby Duren, Cameron and Zachary Clemmons, Lexie Lovelace, Olivia, Landry and Cooper Greenhill, Haylee Perry and Josie Lovelace and she was expecting a great-grandson later this year.

In addition to her husband and parents, Miss Perry was preceded in death by a son, Charles Hallowell; sons-in-law, Joel Lovelace, E. J. Ayers; brothers, Wilson, Frank, Jimmy, Lester and Melvin Staggs; sisters, Gertie Jones, Ola Hood.

Services will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, with Roger Risner officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Daniel and Brady Devers, Charles Hallowell, Jr., Jason and Ricky Perry and Daykoda Martin and honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Greenhill.

Visitation will be Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.
