Virginia King

Virginia King departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the age of 97 years, 4 months, and 16 days. She was born in Pasadena, California, on January 25, 1925, the daughter of the late William Earl and Frances Edith Woodley Beers. On August 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Orman Doyle King, who preceded her in death on March 18, 1995.
Virginia was self-employed for many years caregiving and sitting with the elderly. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and volunteered at Harbert Hills Nursing Home where she was the first Activity Director and the first cook. Virginia was an artist, and enjoyed gardening, baby sitting, and playing piano.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Richard King and his wife Elizabeth of Savannah, Tennessee, Larry King of Atlanta, Georgia, Allen King and his wife Diane of Marino Valley, California, and Mike King and his wife Nancy of Westmoreland, Tennessee; step sons, Joseph King and his wife Connie of Hopkinsville, Tennessee, and Jere King of Colorado; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Langston; step sons, Estal King and Charlie King; and siblings, Anne Beers Heather, Jinx Beers, Roy Beers, and William Beers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
