Virgilla Mae Kilburn

Mrs. Virgilla Mae Prince Kilburn departed this life on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 1 Month, 24 Days. She was born December 7, 1930 in Lawrence County, TN, the daughter of the late Arlie Clarence and Lillian May Clayton Prince. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kilburn was preceded in death by a brother, W.A. Prince and sisters, Faye Ray and Edwina Prince.

She was united in marriage to Walter Newton Kilburn on January 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2007.

Mrs. Kilburn was a homemaker and a member of the Green River Tabernacle Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee.

She is survived by a son, Danny L. Kilburn and wife, Sue of Rockvale, TN; grandchildren, Russell Kilburn and wife, Tabitha, Rene' Spencer Bell and husband, Phil and Talitha Craig and husband, Scott; 8 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Justin Prince of Lawrenceburg, TN; sisters, Maudeen Rogers of Lawrenceburg, TN and Elda Wilsford of Muncie, IN; special friend that she considered as a son, Dwight Barnett and wife, Tamara of Lawrenceburg, TN

Services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Larry Janes officiating. Burial will follow in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Cleo Kilburn, Russ Kilburn, Leo Kilburn, Larry McDonald, Barry Raines and Zachary Kilburn.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 8:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
