Virgil Oneal Murray

Virgil Oneal Murray was born August 2, 1930 in Bethel Springs, TN the son of the late William Virgil and Mary Lessie Henson Murray.



He was united in marriage to Doretta Isbell on April 2, 1949.



Mr. Murray was a logger, he worked for Murray Brother's Logging. He loved the outdoors, working on the bulldozer, tinkering with old cars and trucks. He was a member of the Purdy Presbyterian Church. His greatest enjoyment was his great grandchildren.



Mr. Murray departed this life on December 7, 2012 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 4 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doretta Murray of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Jimmy Murray and wife Ruthie of Bethel Springs, TN; a daughter, Candy Butler and husband Donnie of Bethel Springs, TN; four brothers, Bruce Murray and wife Betty of Bethel Springs, TN, Larry Murray and wife Janice of Adamsville, TN, John Ross Murray and wife Lola of Bethel Springs, TN, Gary Wayne Murray and wife Diane of Adamsville, TN; two sisters, Pauline Walker and husband Willard of Adamsville, TN, Mary Bess Tate of Adamsville, TN; brother-in-law, Johnny Plunk of Bethel Springs, TN; two sister-in-laws, Frances Murray and Jessie Murray both of Bethel Springs, TN; six grandchildren, Shiree Combs and husband Chris of Adamsville, TN, Shane Murray and wife Susan of Selmer, TN, Heather Webster of Adamsville, TN, Tiffaney Cima and husband Dennie of Adamsville, TN, Donnie Wayne Butler of Bethel Springs, TN, Dustin Butler of Bethel Springs, TN; nine great grandchildren, Hilary and Tyler Combs, Mollie and Tillie Cima, Luke Webster, Paige and Zach Murray, Kendall and Taylor Butler; host of extended family and friends.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Murray was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Murray, Will Tom Murray; a sister, Joyce Plunk.
