Virgil M. Likes

Virgil M. Likes of Selmer, Tennessee, was born on Monday, Oct. 21, 1918, in Brownell, Kansas, the son of the late William Bryan Likes and Mary Tee Smotherman Likes. He was a World War II Army veteran and a self-employed automotive mechanic.Mr. Likes died on Saturday, December 9, 2006, in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 88 years, 1 month, and 18 days.Survivors are his wife Alice M. Ray Likes of Selmer; 3 sons, Ricky Lynn Likes of Selmer, William Bart Likes of Byhalia, Mississippi, and Larry McCullar of Selmer; 2 sisters, Ila May Lempka of Nebraska and Wanda Joleen Trafficanto of Kansas; 2 brothers, Kenneth Dean Likes and Robin Dale Likes, both of Kansas.Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.Other than his parents, Mr. Likes was also preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ann Ten Busschen, a son Roy McCullar, 2 sisters, Opal Agnas Rider and Ada Ruth Greene, and 3 brothers, William Francis Likes, Finley Leroy Likes, and Don Eugene Likes.
