Virgie Jeweldine Tidwell

Virgie Jeweldine McLaughlin Tidwellwas born in Florence, Alabama on June 30, 1934 the daughter of the late Jewelius and Effie Gray McLaughlin.On August 15, 1953 she was united in marriage to John Willie Tidwell, Sr., who survives.Mrs. Tidwell worked as a seamstress for Spring City Manufacturing in Spring City, Tennessee. During her life she had lived in Cloverdale, Alabama, Ten Mile, Tennessee, and made her home in Savannah, Tennessee. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of Christ. She was an excellent cook, family oriented, caring towards others, generous, and loving.Mrs. Tidwell departed this life on January 6, 2008 at her residence at the age of 73 years, 6 months, 7 days.In addition to her husband she is survived by 3 sons: John W. Tidwell, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Justin D. Tidwell of Henderson, Tennessee, Jeffery C. Tidwell of Philadelphia, Tennessee; 2 daughters: Janet R. Fletcher and Judy D. Franks both of Savannah, Tennessee; 1 sister: Drucilla Richardson of Florence, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 1 sister: Mary Francis Dodd of Cypress Inn, Tennessee.
